Get Outside & Enjoy Nature

Unplug in a small Wisconsin town surrounded by nature, in a local creatives haven. Cambridge is full of small business owners with a rich history of art that is coming back with a fresh start.

Below you’ll find a curated list of local favorites that we absolutely love, and we think you will too.

You will be just a few minutes drive from beaches, parks and hiking trails.

CamRock County Park

Well known for its extensive mountain bike trails, there are also many walking trailheads conveniently located right by Cambridge Market.

Lake Ripley & Ripley Park

Ripley Park is home to a beach, two tennis courts, basketball court, children’s play structure, 9-hole disc golf course and a volleyball court.

Aztalan State Park

Located near Cambridge, in Lake Mills, Aztalan State Park is a National Historic Landmark and contains one of Wisconsin's most important archaeological sites, showcasing an ancient Middle-Mississippian village that thrived between A.D. 1000 and 1300. The people who settled Aztalan built large, flat-topped pyramidal mounds and a stockade around their village. Portions of the stockade and two mounds have been reconstructed in the park.

Glacial Drumlin State Trail

Running between Wisconsin's two largest urban areas, this trail stretches for 52 miles through farmlands and glacial topography. The trail travels through 10 small towns from Cottage Grove to Waukesha. The trail is on an abandoned rail corridor, except for a 1.5-mile section northeast of Jefferson, between State Highway 26 and County Highway Y, which uses public roads as the trail route.

“My husband, our 2 young kids, and I enjoyed exploring charming Cambridge during the day and had the best night's sleep. The beds were extremely comfortable, the temperature was perfect, and the rooms were dark and quiet so we could all sleep in. The hosts are so welcoming and you can tell they are truly in their element. Covington Manor is only about 30 min from Madison, so we were also able to enjoy the city before heading home. I highly recommend Covington Manor for anyone who needs to unwind and relax. ”
